Possibly S Reich. Bowls are Blue/White, Red/White, Pink/White, Light Brown/White, 2 tone white and Brown/white. The white/white being a very subtle effect. 3 of the bowls are marked with a 'Dove incorporating letters S and R or B' inside and octagonal border. The set are in the original box with 3 transparent windows, the lid being printed 'Achate de Bohême'. The back of the box contains the coding "85 - 1108/600" "MC 208" n.b. first 85 could be a 5 or 6, 208 could be 2208 and again 8 could be 5 or 6.
Does anyone recognise the numbering system that almost certainly dates to 1920s/30s
Some thoughts as to why the box was printed in French:
- 1. It was a handout/souvenir at the 1925 Paris exposition. A 1920s date would fit too.
- 2. Trade sample sent out to French wholesalers by the manufacturer of agate glass.
- 3. Sold in souvenir shops
